Banaras. Kashi. Varanasi.
If one were to choose only one city in India to have the whole of the country condensed in it, we at least would choose Banaras. One of the oldest cities in the world still inhabited (and it shows) Banaras is truly, TRULY, an experience to experience.
Dear Residents,
If you’ve ever watched Satyajit Ray’s Aparajito or Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan, you already know why filmmakers go to Banaras: everything is happening all at once, and yet the effect of such super-stimulation of the senses is of serendipity and synchronicity.
This 19-21st December, we’re headed to Banaras, and would like to invite you to come along on this wonderful journey amongst the friendliest people you could hope for - fellow members of the Red House community!

We’ll depart from New Delhi early on December 19th and arrive in Banaras by afternoon. Over the weekend, we’ll wander the ghats and watch the river catch the morning light, take a sunrise boat ride, visit temples, and meander through historic lanes alive with everyday life. We’ll explore art and cultural spots, sit by the river and listen to Festival music, and leave space to simply sit, shop, or lose ourselves in the city’s rhythm before returning to Delhi on December 21st.
Trip dates: December 19th - 21st

DEADLINE to register: 5pm, December 14th
Hope you can make it! Banaras can feel like everything is happening at once, but with the right company, it all falls into place.
Warmly,
Sunaina Jain
