Join us at Red House to learn this age-old and time-honoured craft! It doesn’t matter if you’re a total beginner, you’re very welcome to join us! In fact it is a rare opportunity!

We're starting a second batch of charkha classes at Red House!

It is perhaps a secret the spinners keep – of how meditative and therapeutic a spinning wheel can be. — Join us at Red House to learn the timeless craft of charkha spinning! Embark on a journey of mindfulness and tradition with our charkha spinning classes led by renowned spinner Seema Rani.

Whether you have spun some cotton before or are a curious beginner, you’re very welcome to join us!

✍️Writing Workshop: Prose-Poetry Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore

‘Who are you, reader, reading my poems a hundred years hence?’ — this Sunday, we remember our very own Rabindranath Tagore. We know of no other man in any time, who has done anything in the English language, to equal his lyrics.

Join us in this rare workshop on the prose-poem style of writing, centered around the English translation (by Tagore himself) of Tagore’s ‘The Gardener’ through a substantial introduction to the technique, and practice of various more particular technical aspects of it, and a series of guided writings (which you will do) and readings, we will acquire this means of more poetic self-expression and exploration. We will, in this way, engage with Tagore on a personal level, and better understand his sublime contribution to literature.

⛰️Art Trip to Naggar, Kullu Valley

Join us for an immersive travel experience to Naggar, Kullu Valley, in search of Shambhala! Armed with watercolours and brushes, we shall explore the legendary Russian painter Nicholas Roerich’s famed, and mountainous, ‘Realm of Light’. We’ll be painting mountainous landscapes, initiating ourselves in the philosophy of the Roerich’s, exploring ancient mountain temples, going on hikes, and just have a magical time overall (with even more surprises in store).

Dates: May 22nd evening - May 25th early morning
