Imagine you’ve just turned 6, theres only a week of summer holidays left, and you’re playing with your cousins one last time before going home (where your summer holiday homework still waits to be started). In what feels like the last time you’ll ever play with them, you and 2 of your cousins pick up cushions from all of the rooms in the house and set up a fort and discuss strategies for when “war” will be announced.

Cut to today, where a majority of us are stuck to building decks and analytical strategies for an upcoming meeting, not realising that somewhere along the way that the childlike wonder we once viewed the world with, is no longer there. Now, our imaginations, much like our laptop screens, have boundaries to them.

Well, after a successful pilot recently of the Red House Salons, based in format on our ever-popular writing workshop on Virginia Woolf, Red House proudly presents this coming Sunday an intimate online gathering on a subject of utmost importance — YOUR INNER CHILD.

Unabashedly, and openly and gently, as characteristic of the kinds of conversations we have at Red House, we will come together once again to speak of those barefoot, wide-eyed selves who built worlds out of bedsheets, and laughed without shame, and created without a thought for 'productivity'. Where indeed did they go? And can we still hear their voices? In our work, and love, and play...

In the spirit of the old French salons, nothing will be too strange or too embarrassing to share here. The session will be piercingly conversational, where we will all be encouraged to think and share about things we may never otherwise. We do know that many of us are struggling, and trying our best to recover versions of ourselves which might let us have some kind of transcendence — let this be a push towards a very real possibility of your going away with new and highly practicable ideas that may produce very real effects.
