New Post

Dear Residents,

This Sunday morning, we’re going outdoors!

We invite you to join us for a Monsoon Tree Walk in Buddha Jayanti Park, located in the Central Ridge forest, led by none other than Chandan Tiwari, the voice behind @delhitrees, one of the most beloved and definitive Instagram pages on Delhi’s trees.

If you’ve ever been curious about the green giants around you, their names, their stories, this one’s for you.

During the walk, we’ll be:
- Identifying native and invasive species within the park
- Talking about how Delhi’s ecology has been quietly transforming
- Listening to folk tales and mythologies connected to the trees around us

About Chandan Tiwari:
Chandan has lived in Delhi for over two decades, working as an in-house legal counsel. His true joy, however, is walking, exploring, and mapping the city’s natural world. His journey through Delhi’s green patches is ongoing, and his Instagram is a living archive of that love.

Why Buddha Jayanti Park?
Established in 1956 to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism, the park represents a vision of international Buddhist unity. It’s also part of Delhi’s Central Ridge, a meeting ground for native Aravalli ecology and invasive species. These landscapes are not just beautiful, they are changing fast, and worth paying attention to.
