We are excited to announce the inaugural edition of the Red House Classical Dance Festival, presenting "RUKMINI — ‘DECORATED WITH GOLD’". Join us for two days of mesmerizing performances celebrating the life and legacy of the illustrious Rukmini Devi Arundale.

Date: February 24th and 25th
Time: 7pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Red House, B-203, Okhla-1, New Delhi

Experience the enchanting world of classical dance through captivating performances by four incredibly talented dancers. If you’ve attended any of our previous such festivals, you know what we are about!

Schedule:

Feb 24th:

• TALK by Arjun Shivaji Jain (Director, Red House) on the life and legacy of Rukmini Devi Arundale. We will be discussing Rukmini Devi’s early education, her revolutionising Bharatanatyam, her legacy, philosophy, and aesthetic sensibility.

• ODISSI by Shreeja Saha: The story of Radha and Krishna, as seen by Krishna’s first wife Rukmini.

• BHARATANATYAM by Yadavi Shakdher Menon: A varnam essaying the Vasakasajja Nayika - deep in love for Kartikeya.

Feb 25th:

• TALK by Arjun Shivaji Jain (Director, Red House) on the life and legacy of Rukmini Devi Arundale. We will be discussing Rukmini Devi’s early education, her revolutionising Bharatanatyam, her legacy, philosophy, and aesthetic sensibility.

• BHARATANATYAM by Paromita Dolui (@paromita_dolui): A series of Carnatic renditions crafted expertly in awe of Shiva.

• MOHINIATTAM by Thankam Krishnan (@thankam_krishnan): A stuti to Ganpathy, and the Ganga-Tatvam - the narrative of Yashodhara.
